Champalimaud Foundation (Lisboa) voted best place to work outside USA

More than 1500 scientists responded to The Scientist’s 2012 survey with the results and methodology due to be detailed in the article, “Best Places to Work for Postdocs: 2012” in the magazine’s print and online (www.the-scientist.com) April editions.
The leading institutes in the 2012 ranking include the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, which tops the list of North American institutions for the second consecutive year. The Champalimaud Foundation was elected as the leading institute worldwide based outside the USA.


The results of this survey reveal a significant evolution in the positions of postdocs over the last decade. Today’s postdocs remain in their positions for longer than ever before, have more benefits and are consequently happier for it. This tendency is revealed through the reduction in the number of participants in the survey who classified their satisfaction in their work as “reasonable” or “poor”, with more choosing “excellent”.

Segundo nota da Fundação, a lista das instituições norte-americanas é liderada pelo 'Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research', em Cambridge, lugar que ocupa pelo segundo ano consecutivo.

Os inquiridos colocaram a Fundação Champalimaud na liderança das instituições internacionais, fora dos Estados Unidos.
